Della Penna has been instrumental in creating industry-wide email marketing best practices. Two years after the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced its CAN-SPAM Act: Requirements for Commercial Emailers, Della Penna was selected to share his views on the effectiveness of the report with the FTC. Under Della Penna’s leadership, Epsilon Interactive was a founding organizer and only Email Service Provider to be on the Program Steering Committee for the industry’s first Email Authentication Summit in July 2005. Currently, Della Penna serves as Chair of the Direct Marketing Association Council for Responsible Email. Most recently, Epsilon became the first major Email Service Provider to join the Messaging Anti Abuse Working Group (MAAWG), a global organization focusing on preserving electronic messaging from online exploits and abuse. He is also a founding board member of the DMA’s Interactive Marketing Advisory board (IMAB).
