Meet Richard McDonald

As President, Agency, at Epsilon, Richard is responsible for agency business operations and driving client growth.

My role
I am fortunate to lead Epsilon’s agency business, including a world class creative team, a client centric account management team and some of the smartest strategy people in the business. I help the world’s biggest brands reach their business goals by fusing data, big creative ideas and technology to engage with customers in the moments that matter most. 

My story
I have two decades of global agency & brand experience launching new markets, leading integrated teams and delivering consistent business growth. I joined Epsilon in 2012 as SVP Strategy and Growth, focused primarily on connecting Epsilons proprietary assets and tools to the traditional creative function within an agency. Previously, I was founding partner at TimeZoneOne an agency that started in NZ and grew to have offices in London and Chicago.

Being a Kiwi (slang for NZ) I grew up loving the outdoors, especially surfing. However, living in Chicago, my surfing is now restricted to teaching my two kids how to surf while on family vacations. I am also very happy to teach any rugby fans the All Blacks haka. 

My philosophy
In order to succeed in today’s marketing landscape, you must have the team and processes for taking the most complicated things like big data, and simplifying them into actionable marketing campaigns that drive client growth.

My qualifications
Lincoln University (New Zealand) – Bachelor of Marketing and Commerce.
