Ashlen Cherry joins Epsilon as Chief Privacy Officer

Seasoned Privacy Professional to Lead Global Privacy and Data Protection Programs; Focus on Providing Consumers with Transparency and Choice, Guiding Clients and Employees, and Advocating for Responsible Marketing Practices Across the Industry

DALLAS – October 2, 2018 – Epsilon®, a global leader in creating connections between people and brands, today announced that Ashlen Cherry has joined the company as Chief Privacy Officer, based in Austin, TX. A member of the company’s executive team, she will report to the General Counsel, Lisa S. Gallerano.

As Chief Privacy Officer, supporting both Epsilon and its Conversant business, Cherry will oversee all ongoing activities related to the global development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to privacy and data protection programs. She will ensure Epsilon’s compliance with policies covering online and offline consumer data, as well as its readiness with respect to applicable federal, state and international laws and practices pertaining to privacy. Additionally, Cherry will work across senior management and with corporate officers to administer the company’s privacy compliance and audit program.

A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Cherry was most recently Global Privacy Manager at Dell Technologies, a family of businesses that provides the essential infrastructure for organizations to build their digital future, transform IT and protect information. In this role, she led global data protection and privacy projects to support her internal clients responsible for product development, marketing, vendor management, and commercial and consumer sales and services. Most recently, Cherry oversaw multiple projects to ensure compliance with requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including a simplified and redesigned data subject rights procedure, and development of an automated privacy impact assessment (PIA) tool. Prior to Dell Technologies, Cherry was Senior Vice President, Enterprise Privacy at Bank of America Corporation and First Vice President, Enterprise Data Security and Privacy Office at Countrywide Financial Corporation, in addition to serving in other senior consulting, privacy and government affairs roles. Cherry received a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts, Government from College of William & Mary.
